Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Dutch forward Lars Veldwijk from Excelsior for an undisclosed fee.
The Reds looked set to announce the deal on Tuesday but the frontman took time to ponder the deal, before signing a three-year contract.
The 22-year-old scored 34 goals for Excelsior last season as they won promotion back to the top flight.
"I encourage all the fans to make him feel at home in Nottingham," Reds owner Fawaz Al Hasawi said on Twitter., external
"His goalscoring record is very impressive and I hope he continues now he has become a Red."
Veldwijk is manager Stuart Pearce's second signing this week following the addition of fellow striker Matt Fryatt on Tuesday.
First-team coach Brian Eastick told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I am pleased for the owner.
"I am pleased for Stuart and also the administration staff, who worked really hard to to get the deal done.
"There were one or two technical issues that we had to deal with in the last 24 hours and I am delighted to say they are resolved.
"I am really looking forward to working with him when he arrives for pre-season."
Eastick was particularly pleased that Veldwijk has chosen a move to the City Ground over other potential options.
"There were other clubs interested and I know Excelsior had offers from other clubs," Eastick continued.
"Having spoken to the boy at length on Monday, and Stuart did as well, he went home to think about it.
"His goalscoring record is very good but supporters will need to be patient with him, as it will be a different style of football.
"The pace of the game will be quicker. I think it will take him a little while to adjust but he has a lot of potential."
