Sheffield Wednesday have signed former Sunderland goalkeeper Keiren Westwood and ex-Chelsea defender Sam Hutchinson on two-year deals.

Westwood, 29, was released by the Premier League side at the end of last term after making 19 league appearances in three seasons.

Hutchinson, who can also play in midfield, finished last season on-loan at Hillsborough, making 11 appearances.

The 24-year-old was released by the Blues earlier this month.

Meanwhile, fellow keeper Chris Kirkland has signed a new one-year contract with the Championship club.

Kirkland, 33, joined the Owls on a free transfer from Wigan Athletic in 2012, and has made 83 appearances.
