Derby County have signed right-back Cyrus Christie from League One side Coventry City for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old youth-team product has signed a three-year deal after turning down a new offer from City.
Christie, who made his debut in the League Cup against Morecambe in 2010, made 116 appearances for Coventry.
Rams head coach Steve McClaren told the club website: "We have been monitoring Cyrus for some time. He fits the profile of young, talented players."
Christie is likely to replace Andre Wisdom in defence, the England Under-21 international having returned to Liverpool after a season-long loan at the iPro Stadium.
McClaren added: "Right-back has been a focus for us this summer.
"We are delighted that Cyrus has chosen Derby County for this key stage of his career. There has been a great deal of competition for his signature.
"Our head of football operations Chris Evans and his recruitment team deserve a lot of credit for closing this deal amidst much pressure. We have signed some very good players this summer and Cyrus is another excellent capture."
