Hibernian staged an amazing late rally to come back from 2-0 down at home to Dumbarton in the League Cup.

Mitch Megginson crashed the Sons ahead with an acrobatic shot on 52 minutes and Mark Gilhaney scrambled in a second goal from a set-piece.

With 12 minutes remaining, Farid El Alagui nodded home and the striker levelled with another header.

Substitute Sam Stanton then completed the turnaround with a thunderous shot in the closing stages.

Having lost two Championship matches in a row, Hibs again looked like paying for a series of missed chances in the first half.

Alex Harris had a shot cleared off the goal-line in the opening half, El Alagui's low strike was well saved and no-one was able to get on the end of a superb David Gray cross.
