Rene Gilmartin: Watford re-sign Irish goalkeeper

Gilmartin only kept one clean sheet in seven appearances during his last spell with Watford

Watford have re-signed goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin on a one-year contract.

The 27-year-old Irishman made seven appearances in two years during his first stint with the Hornets, before leaving for Plymouth in July 2012.

Gilmartin, who played 16 times during his only season with Argyle, spent last term at St Patrick's Athletic.

The Dublin-born keeper started his career at Walsall and has also had loan spells with Hednesford Town, Yeovil and Crawley.
