Plymouth Argyle have confirmed that goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin has left the League Two club by mutual consent.

Gilmartin made 16 appearances for the Pilgrims last season after arriving in July 2012 as one of former manager Carl Fletcher's first signings.

However, the 26-year-old former Walsall and Watford man did not appear after January having been displaced in the side by Jake Cole.

Plymouth also re-signed goalkeeper Luke McCormick in May.
