Walsall 0-0 Colchester United

Walsall shared the spoils with fellow League One strugglers Colchester as they played out a goalless draw.

Colchester's Freddie Sears hit the inside of the post before Tom Bradshaw saw a looping header bounce onto the bar for the Saddlers.

The visitors felt they should have been awarded a penalty after Sanchez Watt went down as he was tackled by Paul Downing, but nothing was given.

Bradshaw fired wide late on as neither side could seize the initiative.

The result means Walsall have now gone 12 league games without a win, while Colchester have halted a run of four successive league defeats in their first match under new manager Tony Humes.
