Birmingham City have signed USA international Brek Shea from Stoke City on a three-month emergency loan.
The winger, 24, will stay with Blues until 13 December and his parent club have no recall option.
Texas-born Shea has been drafted in by manager Lee Clark after injuries to Lee Novak (knee), Denny Johnstone (thigh) and Olly Lee (hamstring).
Shea, who has 27 caps, joined the Potters from Major League Soccer side FC Dallas in January 2013.
But injury restricted him to only five first-team games, including three substitute appearances in the Premier League.
"I've been chasing Brek for a while and actually wanted to sign him permanently at the start of the season," Clark revealed to the club website., external
"He impressed me when he played for Barnsley here at St Andrew's on New Year's Day and, given our recent injuries, it made sense to make this loan move, importantly with no recall clause being something that I have stressed all along."
Shea was loaned to Barnsley at the start of the year, where he played eight times.
He will be available for Birmingham's Championship match against Leeds on Saturday.
