League Cup draw: Shrewsbury face Chelsea, Liverpool v Swansea

Shrewsbury last played Chelsea in the FA Cup in 2003 - which the Blues won 4-0.

League Two side Shrewsbury Town have been drawn at home against Chelsea in the last 16 of the Capital One Cup.

Shrewsbury beat Norwich on Tuesday and now host the Premier League leaders, who were 2-1 winners at home to Bolton.

Holders Manchester City thrashed Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 and will now face Newcastle, who needed extra time to win at Crystal Palace.

Liverpool's reward for their epic penalty shootout win over Middlesbrough is a home tie against Swansea.

Chelsea last played Shrewsbury in the fourth round of the FA Cup in 2002-03

Gianfranco Zola scored twice as Chelsea won 4-0 on their way to a quarter-final defeat to eventual winners Arsenal

The last league meeting between the sides was a 1-1 draw at Gay Meadow in 1989

Shrewsbury have beaten Chelsea on five occasions - most recently on New Year's Day 1983

The ties will be played in the week commencing 27 October.

There are home ties for Tottenham and Stoke, while West Brom travel to Championship side Bournemouth after they came from behind to pip Hull.

At least one side from the Championship and League One are guaranteed to make the last eight after Fulham were drawn against Derby and MK Dons were handed a home tie with Sheffield United.
