All football, basketball and handball matches in Greece are postponed this weekend

The Greek government has postponed all professional domestic sports matches this weekend after a football supporter died following stadium violence.

Kostas Katsoulis, 46, died in hospital from a brain haemorrhage two weeks after the clash with rival fans at a third division match in Crete.

Four people have been charged with attempted murder following the Ethnikos and Irodotos game on 15 September.

Football, basketball and handball matches have all been postponed.

Giannis Adrianos, deputy minister for culture and sports, said the decision had been made "as a small token of respect to the memory of Kostas Katsoulis".

The Ethnikos Piraeus supporter suffered serious head injuries following clashes with Irodotos fans.
