Nuneaton Town: Liam Daish signs Onome Sodje for second time

Nuneaton Town manager Liam Daish has made his third signing inside a week by bringing in much-travelled striker Onome Sodje.

The 26-year-old Nigerian has played for a host of clubs since first arriving in English football with Charlton in 2005.

Daish then took him to Gravesend and Northfleet, initially on loan, after being released by the Addicks in 2006.

He enjoyed his best scoring spell at York City in 2007-08, netting 17 goals in a season in the Conference Premier.

Sodje has since played for Barnsley, Oxford United (on loan), Slovakian team FK Senica, Dong Nai in Vietnam, Maltese side Floriana, CR Belouizdad in Algeria and Albanian outfit Partizani Tirana.

Boro have now received international clearance for Sodje, who is available to make his Boro debut in Tuesday night's home game against Dover Athletic.

But defender Delroy Gordon has parted company with Boro left after 14 months with the club.

The 30-year-old former Corby and Kettering player has signed for Hereford United, who now play in the Southern League following their summer expulsion from the Conference.

Meanwhile, Nuneaton striker Jorrin John has been called up for international duty by Antigua & Barbuda.

They have three scheduled matches, against St Lucia (8 October), the Dominican Republic (10 October) and hosts Trinidad and Tobago (12 October), all at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.

John will miss two Conference matches - the Dover game, as well as Saturday's trip to Welling United.

Boro climbed a place to to 22nd in the table, four points off the bottom, with Daish's first victory as boss on Saturday at home to Lincoln City.
