Nuneaton Town 2-1 Lincoln City

  • Published

Nuneaton beat Lincoln to end their run of four straight defeats and win for the first time under boss Liam Daish.

Lee Fowler broke the deadlock for the home side on the half-hour mark with a 30-yard free-kick which sneaked into the bottom corner of the net.

Lincoln levelled six minutes before the break through Tom Miller, who headed in a Sean Newton cross.

But Nuneaton regained the lead when, on his debut, Adam Dawson lobbed Imps keeper Nick Townsend from 30 yards.

Lincoln have now lost five away games on the bounce, while Nuneaton remain in the relegation zone, three points from safety.

As well as winger Dawson, signed on loan from Leicester City, Boro had 33-year-old former Barnet, Northampton Town and Luton Town defender Anthony Charles making his debut.

He fills the hole left by the exit of Exodus Geohaghon, who left early last week following Daish's first game in charge.
