Cambridge United 1-2 Cheltenham Town

Cheltenham recorded a second successive victory and ended Cambridge's three-match unbeaten run in League Two.

Matt Richards fired the Robins ahead on 10 minutes with a spectacular left-footed volley past keeper Chris Dunn.

Kwesi Appiah latched onto Ryan Donaldson's dinked pass and slotted home to bring the U's level.

Both managers were sent to the stands at half-time and it was Mark Yates' Cheltenham who sealed all three points with Terry Gornell's winner.

Gornell asked for a transfer out of the club earlier this month but has since scored four goals in three games.

Cheltenham manager Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"We started brilliantly. We made a team that's been doing very well change shape after 15 minutes because we were causing them problems.

"We asked for a big effort in the second half and I certainly got it.

"I knew I'd picked the right team when I walked from the coach to the dressing room.

"We had to dig in and fight but the effort I got was magnificent."
