York City came from behind to beat League Two bottom side Hartlepool thanks to two goals from Keith Lowe.

The hosts led at the break through Scott Fenwick's close-range goal on his full professional debut.

The Minstermen, who have moved six points clear of the relegation zone, levelled through defender Lowe's header from a Josh Carson corner.

Lowe scored again from a Russ Penn cross before Jake Hyde sealed it with a measured finish from outside the area.

York City manager Russ Wilcox told BBC Radio York:

Wilcox on Hartlepool v York City

"Fantastic second half performance. For us moving forward as a club that was huge mentally more than physically.

"I thought we looked leggy in the first half, I thought Tuesday nigth was catching up on us and there was concern there. But we showed terrific togetherness and quality as well.

"There are little bits we can do better but I thought we saw the game out fairly comfortably and it's a huge three points."
