FA Cup predictions: Lawro v Dave Beasant & John Aldridge
- Published
BBC Sport's football expert Mark Lawrenson is pitting his wits against a different guest each week this season.
His opponents for selected ties on FA Cup third-round weekend were Dave Beasant and John Aldridge, who were on opposing sides when Wimbledon shocked Liverpool to win the 1988 final.
Beasant famously saved an Aldridge penalty as the 'Crazy Gang' triumphed 1-0 at Wembley and recalled the research that he did on the Reds striker's spot-kick technique before the final.
Here's what they predicted and how they fared.

A correct result (picking a win, draw or defeat) is worth ONE point. Getting the exact score correct earns THREE points.
On New Year's Day, Lawro got two correct results from 10 games, with no perfect scores.
His score of two points was his worst of the season so far, and was beaten by Match of the Day commentator Steve Wilson, who picked four correct results, with one perfect score, to give him a total of six points.
We are keeping a record of the totals for Lawro and his guests (below), and showing a table of how the Premier League would look if all of Lawro's predictions were correct (at the bottom of the page).
