Colchester United: Kaspars Gorkss leaves for Ergotelis

Kaspars Gorkss left Reading last June following a three-year spell at the Madejski Stadium

Experienced Colchester United defender Kaspars Gorkss has moved to Crete-based Greek Superleague side Ergotelis.

The Latvia international, 33, had been on a short-term contract with the U's but has now signed an 18-month deal with Ergotelis.

He made nine appearances for Colchester, scoring once, and manager Tony Humes had hoped he would stay on.

Humes said: "Kaspars has done exactly what we needed from him and it's disappointing he has decided to go."
