Ipswich Town: Mick McCarthy confirms Dylan Connolly signing

Mick McCarthy's Ipswich have taken four points from their last four games

Manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed Ipswich Town have signed Shelbourne's Republic of Ireland Under-21 winger Dylan Connolly on an 18-month contract.

The 19-year-old, who scored 12 goals in 27 games for Shelbourne, had trials at Ipswich and Bolton in the summer.

"He's blisteringly quick, got a fair bit of ability and got a goal in him," McCarthy told BBC Radio Suffolk.

"He'll play in the Under-21s at the start, but I've signed him with a view to playing with [the first team]."
