Anthony Martial scored twice as Monaco dominated play against nine-man Bastia

Bastia had two players sent off as Monaco prepared for their Champions League last-16 second leg against Arsenal with a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Anthony Martial put the hosts ahead before Drissa Diakite saw red for a foul in the box on Matheus Carvalho.

Layvin Kurzawa's penalty was saved but Monaco doubled their lead before half-time through Carvalho, before Martial pounced again to make it three.

Giovanni Sio was then sent off for a nasty challenge on wing-back Kurzawa.

The result sees Monaco consolidate fourth place in the French table, with Leonardo Jardim's side now three points behind Marseille, who play second-placed Lyon on Sunday.

Arsenal travel to Monaco on Tuesday with a 3-1 deficit from the first leg in north London in February.

In the evening's other Ligue 1 game, 15th-placed Nice were beaten 2-1 at home to Guingamp, who move up to 10th, as Bastia slip to 11th.
