Yeovil: Terry Skiverton says some will not play for club again

Yeovil acting manager Terry Skiverton says some of the players who lost 4-0 to Fleetwood on Monday will never play for the League One team again.

Following their defeat by the Cod Army, the Glovers are 13 points from safety with five matches remaining.

"This was last chance saloon," Skiverton told BBC Spotlight.

"The doors have finally swung and now there are a few people in that team that will not be able to get back into the doors of Yeovil Town."

Skiverton has been in temporary charge of Yeovil since Gary Johnson was sacked in January and the 39-year-old also admitted that the club need to look at rebuilding now, rather than wait until the end of the season.

A home defeat by Notts County on Saturday would confirm back-to-back relegations for Yeovil, who finished bottom of the Championship in 2013-14.

"This has been coming for a little while, with the decline the club has had," Skiverton added.

"It has brought a lot of things clearer to our supporters, to me as acting manager and to the board upstairs that now the rebuilding has to start - stripping everything back, taking your medicine, starting afresh and looking to the future - which looks like it is going to be League Two."
