Cambridge United have signed centre-back Leon Legge on a two year deal from League One side Gillingham.

The 29-year-old made 92 appearances for the Gills having signed from Brentford in 2013 after an initial loan spell.

Legge has previously had stints with non-league sides Lewes and Tonbridge, before joining the Bees in 2009.

"The supporters and everything about the club appealed to me which is why this is the club I have chosen in the end," he told the club's website., external

"I have had a little bit of experience in League Two before and won this division with Gillingham.

"Hopefully I can share that experience with other lads in the side, so we'll be looking to push up high in the league and do great things here."
