Auchinleck Talbot triumphed over Musselburgh to lift the Junior Cup

Auchinleck Talbot were crowned Junior Cup winners for the 11th time with a 2-1 win over Musselburgh at Rugby Park.

Dawyne Hislop gave the Ayrshire men the lead with a stunning right-foot volley that flew past the goalkeeper.

However, five minutes before half-time it was all square when Jordyn Sheerin curled an equally fine effort into the top corner.

Gordon Pope's penalty restored Auchinleck's lead and they hit the post as they saw out a deserved win.

It was a repeat of the 2010-11 final, with the East Lothian outfit's 92-year wait to life the trophy for a second time continuing.

"We had to calm down and pass it a bit more," said Auchinleck manager Tommy Sloan.

"At 1-1 it could have gone either way, but I think we deserved it in the end."
