Mansfield Town: Nicky Hunt joins Stags after Accrington departure

Nicky Hunt played over 150 games for Bolton, many of them in the Premier League, at the start of his career

Mansfield Town have signed right-back Nicky Hunt following his departure from League Two rivals Accrington Stanley.

The 31-year-old, whose previous clubs include Bolton, Birmingham and Derby, made 80 appearances for Stanley.

"Nicky adds vital experience and know-how to our back line," boss Adam Murray told the Stags website.

"He has played at a much higher level [than League Two] and as well as his football intelligence, he brings some real quality into the squad."

The length of Hunt's contract with Mansfield has not been disclosed.
