League Two side Cambridge United have signed former Huddersfield Town forward Danny Carr on a two-year contract.

The 21-year-old had a trial with Liverpool after scoring 25 goals in 37 appearances for Dulwich Hamlet, but joined the Terriers in 2013.

He played only twice for Huddersfield, and had brief loan spells at Fleetwood, Mansfield and Dagenham and Redbridge.

Carr becomes the U's seventh signing of the summer so far, and joins recent additions Luke Berry and Barry Corr.

"He is a player of enormous as yet unfulfilled potential, he is very quick and can play across the front line," said U's boss Richard Money.

"Daniel's determination to sign for us when he had a number of other opportunities has been refreshing and underlines the ambition we are showing in our recruitment this summer."
