Tom Cairney made 45 appearances in all competitions last season for Blackburn Rovers.

Fulham have announced the signing of Blackburn Rovers midfielder Tom Cairney for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old has penned a four-year deal with the west London club, with the option of a further year.

The former Hull City trainee joined Rovers on a three-and-a-half-year deal in January 2014 and went on to make 85 appearances at Ewood Park.

"I'm delighted. Fulham is a very attractive club to come to," Cairney told the club website., external

"For most of my life, Fulham have been a Premier League club and have only been out of it for a year.

"Every player wants to play in the Premier League and if I can do that with Fulham that would be fantastic."

Cairney was born in Nottingham, but has played for Scotland Under-19s and under-21s by virtue of his Scottish father.

He is Fulham's third summer addition so far after they signed midfielder Ben Pringle from Rotherham and goalkeeper Andy Lonergan from Bolton.
