Cambridge United have signed midfielder Conor Newton on a two-year contract after his deal with Rotherham United was terminated by mutual consent.

The 23-year-old former Newcastle United trainee joined the Millers last summer, but only made 14 appearances for the Championship club last season.

Newton previously played under Cambridge boss Richard Money during his time as Newcastle's academy director.

He becomes 10th signing of the summer by the League Two U's.
