This will be York City's last full season at Bootham Crescent before moving to their new home
York City have signed former Scunthorpe United youth team captain Taron Hare on a one-year deal.
The 18-year-old, who can play at centre-back or right-back, was released by the Iron earlier in the summer without making a first team appearance.
The Minstermen have the option of an additional 12 months on Hare's deal.
Russ Wilcox's side start their League Two campaign away at last season's beaten play-off finalists Wycombe on Saturday, 8 August.
