Paul Corry: Northampton Town sign ex-Sheffield Wednesday man

Paul Corry had been on trial with Northampton Town

Northampton have signed ex-Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Paul Corry on an 12-month deal following a trial.

The 24-year-old joined Wednesday from hometown club University College Dublin but only made 10 appearances before he was released at the end of last season.

While with the Owls he spent time on loan at Tranmere and Carlisle.

"To get it signed is a bit of a relief. To be a free agent isn't a pleasant thing. I've really enjoyed my time on trial," he told BBC Radio Northampton.

"For myself it's about playing, getting some exposure and building my CV in English football."
