League Two Northampton hammered Blackpool in the League Cup thanks to three goals in nine first-half minutes.

The hosts took the lead when Chris Hackett converted David Buchanan's low cross in the 20th minute before Dominic Calvert-Lewin headed in to double the advantage four minutes later.

Sam Hoskins sealed victory in the 29th minute, beating Kyle Letheren at the second attempt.

Jack Redshaw missed the League One side's best chance from close range.

The defeat means Blackpool remain without a win in any competition since 31 January.
