Southend United secured a first League One victory of the season as goals from Adam Barrett and Noel Hunt were enough to defeat Peterborough United.
The Shrimpers hit the bar through David Mooney's header before they went ahead when Barrett scored from close range.
Michael Bostwick's shot hit the bar for Posh, but Hunt headed the home side's second goal from Ben Coker's free-kick.
Marcus Maddison's 90th-minute strike gave Posh hope but they were unable to salvage a point in injury time.
