Wolves have signed Swindon winger Nathan Byrne on a three-year deal.

Byrne, who joins for an undisclosed fee, started as a defender at Tottenham before joining Swindon in 2013.

The 23-year-old switched from wing-back to a more forward position this term and scored a 16-minute hat-trick on the opening day of the season.

"He has developed into a very good attacking player over the last couple of seasons in a very good, successful team," said Wolves boss Kenny Jackett.

"We think that the time is now right to step into the Championship and come to a club like Wolves and really help us to push forward."

The player said he had similar feelings about taking the step up from League One to a higher division.

"I feel it is my time to prove myself at the higher level and I've known from when I was young how big a club Wolves is," he told the club website., external

"I am buzzing to be at such a big club with great ambitions which want to push on. The team is young and there is a real belief here and I am delighted to be involved."
