Reading have agreed season-long loan moves for Benfica winger Ola John and Watford striker Matej Vydra.

Vydra, 23, moves from the Hornets having previously worked with manager Steve Clarke at West Bromwich Albion.

The Czech Republic international signed a five-year deal at Vicarage Road in July after joining from Udinese.

Dutch international John, also 23, has previously played for FC Twente and on loan at Hamburg and can play either as a winger or a striker.

He is the younger brother of former Fulham striker Collins John.

The pair signed for Reading a day after forward Lucas Piazon joined on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

Meanwhile, defender Michael Hector has joined Chelsea in a £4m deal, but will return to the Madejski Stadium on loan for the remainder of the season.
