Sunderland have signed American defender DeAndre Yedlin on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham.
The 22-year-old has played once for Spurs - against Aston Villa in April - having signed for them in August 2014.
He began his career with Seattle Sounders in America and is a part of the USA squad which will face Peru and Brazil later this week.
"I'm delighted to be given the opportunity to play for a club with such great history," said Yedlin.
"I've heard fantastic things about Sunderland and the supporters from Claudio Reyna and Jozy Altidore - both American internationals who have played for Sunderland.
"Claudio speaks very highly of Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat from his time at Rangers."
Yedlin is Sunderland's eighth signing this summer, following Fabio Borini, Jeremain Lens, Yann M'Vila, Ola Toivonen, Younes Kaboul, Seb Coates and Adam Matthews.
