Arlen Birch: Burnley sign former Everton full-back

Arlen Birch had been on trial for a month at Burnley

Championship side Burnley have signed former Everton full-back Arlen Birch on a one-year contract.

The 19-year-old has been on trial with the Clarets and will now join their development squad.

Birch, a former England Under-18 international, spent eight years in the Everton academy.

"I have been here for a few weeks now so I'm delighted to join a great group of lads and I can't wait for the season ahead," he told Burnley's website.
