Glasgow City all but wrapped up their ninth SWPL title in a row with a 2-0 win over closest rivals Hibernian at Albyn Park.

The teams had drawn both of this season's previous league meetings 3-3, but goals from Hayley Lauder and Erin Cuthbert ensured City go six points clear with just two games to play.

City can clinch the title with a point when they host Aberdeen on October 18.

Before then, they face a Champions League double-header with Chelsea.

In addition, both City and Hibs have Scottish Cup semi-finals to contend with next weekend, with the defending champions up against Rangers while Hibs take on Celtic.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Women's Premier League, Celtic defeated Glasgow rivals Rangers 2-0.

Aberdeen went down to a surprise 4-0 defeat at home to Spartans, with Sarah Ewens netting a hat-trick.

Forfar Farmington ensured their Premier League safety with a 5-2 win over Hearts, while Hutchison Vale defeated Hamilton 5-1 and Stirling University were 4-1 winners over Inverness City.
