Cambridge United have signed defender Alie Sesay from Premier League side Leicester City on a one-month loan.

The 21-year-old, capped twice by Sierra Leone, is yet to appear for the Foxes' first team, but made three appearances on loan with Colchester in 2014.

The U's are without four defenders for Saturday's match against Northampton.

"We need to do something this weekend so we've brought someone in who we know quite a bit about," head coach Richard Money told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"He's a bit different to the other defenders we have in terms of stature, but he's very quick, he's happy with the ball at his feet," he added.

"And, hoping that George Taft will be fit, the pair played together for three years growing up at Leicester, so we're hoping that relationship can be rekindled pretty quickly."

Taft is carrying a slight knock, while Money will also be without centre-back Leon Legge, who will be out for around a month with a groin injury.

Elliot Omozusi (tooth infection), Mark Roberts (suspended) and Josh Coulson (calf) are also missing for Cambridge.
