Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill has confirmed the Robins have had a £2m bid for Zach Clough accepted by Bolton.

The 20-year-old has been the subject of interest from various Championship clubs, external including Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield and Birmingham.

Clough has scored nine goals in 23 appearances for the Wanderers and City will now look to agree personal terms.

The Robins are also set to sign a goalkeeper on loan after Frank Fielding suffered an intercostal muscle injury.

Bristol City face four games in the next 11 days, including a third-round FA Cup replay against West Brom, and Cotterill is doubtful about Fielding's availability.

"He'll be struggling for a little while," Cotterill said. "Every day activities at this moment in time are causing him discomfort.

"We need to wait and see if that settles down but I do not think he will be around for this week."
