Blackburn Rovers have signed Canada striker Simeon Jackson on a deal until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old, capped 45 times by his country, had been on trial with Rovers and is reunited with manager Paul Lambert, who he played for at Norwich.

His most recent club was League One side Barnsley, for whom he made 11 appearances this season, but he left Oakwell last week.

"I'm very hungry to do well," Jackson told the club website., external

"I've had a few ups and downs in the last few years, so I'm definitely looking forward to this opportunity.

"It is a great club, a great set of lads and a great manager. I think the timing has worked out well, so I'm really looking forward to it."

Jackson began his career at Rushden & Diamonds, and also had spells at Gillingham, Norwich, Eintracht Braunschweig, Millwall and Coventry.
