Scotland's Ewen Ferguson replaces England's Sam Horsfield

Ewen Ferguson has been called up to Great Britain & Ireland's Walker Cup team for the match at Royal Lytham.

The Scot was first reserve for the 10-man team until England's Sam Horsfield withdrew for personal reasons.

Ferguson, from Bearsden, is the third Scot taking part against the United States in the 45th Walker Cup match on 12 and 13 September, joining Grant Forrest and Jack McDonald.

England's Bradley Moore now takes Ferguson's place as first reserve.

Other GB & Ireland team members include England's Ashley Chesters and Irishman Paul Dunne, who finished 12th and 30th respectively at this year's Open at St Andrews.

Ferguson was the British Boys' champion in 2013.
