Jockey Lizzie Kelly claimed the biggest victory of her fledgling career when winning the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton on Tea For Two.

The Devon rider, 21, steered the 9-2 joint favourite to a 16-length victory.

Kelly, who has a 7lb weight allowance as a conditional rider, won for trainer Nick Williams, her stepfather.

Hawkes Point provided another big Saturday winner for trainer Paul Nicholls and jockey Sam Twiston-Davies in the Classic Chase at Warwick.

The 15-2 winner beat staying-on Theatrical Star, with the gallant Shotgun Paddy in third.

Kelly, winning a fifth race from her last nine rides, told BBC Radio 5 live: "I want to create a career for myself and as long as I keep riding well, and I'm as fit as I can be, I should carry on riding the way I have been.

"It gives me great confidence because of the way things have gone."

Kelly, helping Williams to his third Lanzarote Hurdle triumph, is unsure whether Tea For Two will head to the Cheltenham Festival in March, with the World Hurdle a possibility.

"We will be building up his strength before he goes chasing, my brother quietly mentioned Cheltenham to me as I was walking into the weighing room but we will keep our feet on the ground," said Kelly,

"If he does go, then absolutely brilliant, but we will just have to see what happens."

At Warwick, Twiston-Davies said blinkers helped his mount, who was pulled up in last month's Welsh National at Chepstow.

"Days like this are amazing, they don't come along very often and it's great when you ride a horse like this who wants to do it and wants to jump," he said.

"The headgear just helped him make his mind up, but he's a good spin."

Douvan, trained by Willie Mullins, is clear favourite for the opening Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival on 10 March after a convincing success at Punchestown under Ruby Walsh.

All seven ante-post favourites for the Festival's first day are trained in Ireland. Mullins has five of them, including Champion Hurdle contender Faugheen.
