London Broncos to play at Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium

London Broncos have announced that Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium will be the venue for their Super League match against Warrington Wolves.

Almost 4,000 watched the Broncos face Hull at Priestfield this year.

"We are pleased to be taking the game back to Gillingham to build on last season's on-the-road game," Broncos chief executive Gus Mackay said.

"We hope that this game will attract an even bigger attendance and we attract further supporters from Kent."

In 2012 the Broncos played two games away from the Twickenham Stoop, which they have shared with rugby union side Harlequins since 2006.

One was at Gillingham while the other was played at Leyton Orient's Matchroom Stadium.

Last week the club announced they would play one game away from south west London in 2013 despite Mackay saying in the summer that they were considering playing more games away from the ground.

"The club continues to strive for new audiences and spread the game to new people in the South East," Mackay added.

Gillingham chairman Paul Scally was delighted that rugby league will be returning to Kent.

"It will be a great sporting occasion and I hope that as many Kent rugby fans as possible will turn out to support them," he said.

The game will be staged on Saturday, 8 June at 15:00 BST.
