Israel Folau has scored 18 tries in 35 Tests for Australia

Full-back Israel Folau has been named in the Australia team for Saturday's World Cup Pool A decider against Wales at Twickenham.

But Folau admitted his ankle is "not 100%" after injuring it against England and he sat out training on Friday.

Australia have made two enforced changes to the side that beat England, with injured wing Rob Horne and suspended flanker Michael Hooper out.

Sean McMahon comes into the back-row, while Drew Mitchell is on the wing.

McMahon, recently named the Wallabies rookie of the year, is the least experienced member of the side.

The 21-year-old, capped five times, will be up against a dynamic Wales back-row that includes two specialist open-side flankers - captain Sam Warburton and Justin Tipuric.

Waratahs full-back Folau, 26, came off in the 66th minute of the 33-13 win over England but is able to maintain his record of not missing a Test because of injury since his debut against the British and Irish Lions in 2013.

Horne's injury, meanwhile, gives 31-year-old Mitchell the chance to add to his 11 World Cup tries.

Hooper is banned after he was found guilty of using his shoulder illegally to clear out England full-back Mike Brown at a ruck.

Australia coach Michael Cheika said: "Every match in this tournament has required our team to step up to another level and we'll need to do that again against an undefeated Welsh team.

"Every player in our squad knows the improvements required, and we still have two days to continue to make them, both individually and as a team.

"Saturday night at Twickenham is another opportunity for us to put in a solid performance and continue to build towards the next stage of the tournament."

Cheika expects the unexpected from Gatland

Cheika also expects the unexpected from Warren Gatland's Wales.

"I think Wales have an excellent game with variation.

"They can switch very nicely between playing a kicking game and attacking game.

"So a lot of high balls, things like that, to a wide game straight away.

"And… Warren Gatland's obviously a very astute coach.

"You saw when the [2013] Lions came to Australia when he was coaching they played hard defence, hard defence, hard defence in all the lead-up games and then in the first Test they played a jockey defence.

"So he'll set you up and try to set you down."
