Welshman Jamie Jones hammered world number one Mark Selby 5-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.

Jones, ranked 38th in the world, matched his best run in a ranking event after also reaching the last eight of the 2012 World Championship.

The 27-year-old will next play fellow Welshman Michael White, who beat England's Ali Carter, in Bendigo.

Title-holder Judd Trump is through with Stephen Maguire, Joe Perry, Martin Gould, John Higgins and Matthew Selt.
