Davis Cup 2013: Great Britain's victory over Russia

Croatia have chosen to play September's crucial Davis Cup play-off against Great Britain on outdoor clay in Umag.

British number one Andy Murray has said he will be available for the tie on 13-15 September, with the winning nation qualifying for the elite World Group.

Dan Evans, James Ward, Colin Fleming and Jonny Marray secured the play-off with a shock win over Russia in March.

Marin Cilic is Croatia's top player at 11 in the world, with Ivan Dodig ranked 56th.

The tie will begin just four days after the US Open final on hard courts in New York, in which Murray will hope to be defending his maiden Grand Slam title.

GB captain Leon Smith said: "We look forward to the challenge of an away tie on clay and will be ready for this all-important match."

Britain and Croatia have only played each other once in the competition, with Britain winning 4-1 at Wimbledon, external in a 2007 World Group play-off.
