Adam Goodes' returned to Sydney Swans training on Tuesday was filmed by 12 camera crews

Australian Rules footballer Adam Goodes has made himself available for selection for Sydney Swans after fears he may quit because of the incessant booing he has received during matches.

The 35-year-old Indigenous Australian has said the abuse has been racist, but some fans have claimed the jeers are because Goodes is not liked.

Goodes missed last Saturday's match against Adelaide Crows.

But he returned to training on Tuesday, saying "it's what I love doing".

Goodes' treatment has sparked a debate over racism in Australia, with a social media campaign under the name #IstandwithAdam trending on Saturday, with actors like Cate Blanchett offering their support.

"I definitely wasn't in the right frame of mind to play last week and I'm extremely excited to be back at the club training with the players," said Goodes, who is available to face Geelong Cats in the Australian Football League on Saturday.

"The last week there's been a lot of discussion. I think those discussions needed to be had and I'm really hopeful that those discussions are behind us now.

"Whether this is my last year or not I really want to be able to go out and enjoy the last five games of the season and another finals campaign."
