Britain's James Barnes-Miller secured his first Para-snowboard World Cup podium of the season as he took bronze in Colorado on Wednesday.

Snowboard cross rider Barnes-Miller was part of a strong line-up in the men's upper limb classification.

The 35-year-old secured third place at the Steamboat resort, behind winner Jacopo Luchini of Italy and Switzerland's Aron Fahrni in second.

Barnes-Miller, who will be aiming to compete at his third Winter Paralympics in Milan-Cortina next year, finished fifth in the first of the Steamboat contests on Tuesday.

Wednesday's result stands him in good stead for the Para-snowboard World Championships, which are set to get under way in Big White, Canada, on 4 March.
