  • Published
  • This will be the first ever competitive meeting between Newport County and Manchester United. The Exiles have won just one of their past 23 meetings with top-flight opponents in all competitions, beating Leicester City in the FA Cup in 2018-19.

  • This will be Manchester United’s first FA Cup game in Wales since the 2005 final against Arsenal, when the Red Devils lost 5-4 on penalties following a 0-0 draw. Their only previous away game against Welsh opposition in the competition was a 5-0 win at Wrexham in January 1957.

  • Newport County have progressed from just two of their eight FA Cup fourth-round ties.

  • Manchester United have progressed from 49 of their past 51 FA Cup ties against teams from outside the top flight, failing only in 2009-10 against Leeds United and 2021-22 against Middlesbrough. Away from home, they are unbeaten in 28 matches in the FA Cup against sides not in the top flight, since losing to Bournemouth in January 1984.

  • Marcus Rashford has either scored (two) or assisted (two) a goal in each of his past four appearances for Manchester United in all competitions, just one fewer goal involvement than he managed in his first 22 games this season (two goals, three assists).
