Swansea City fans were dreading the former player curse when Leeds United visited south Wales on Tuesday night.

Daniel James, Connor Roberts and Joe Rodon all featured against the Swans, but it was Joel Piroe who came back to haunt his former employers, scoring the second of his side's four goals.

And there are more familiar faces set to line up against Luke Williams' outfit this weekend when Ipswich Town travel to the Swansea.com Stadium.

Ali Al-Hamadi - who left Swansea to join Wycombe Wanderers in 2021 - sealed a switch to Ipswich Town from Wimbledon in the January transfer window.

He scored his first goal for the Tractor Boys in a 4-0 win at Millwall on Wednesday night, adding to goals from Wales duo Nathan Broadhead and Kieffer Moore and an own-goal from Wes Harding.

Kieran McKenna's side are now just three points adrift of second-placed Leeds and also boast a game in hand over the Whites.

“It was a good night for us and a good performance in a lot of elements, especially defending set-plays, which is something that will always be a big part of the game here,” McKenna said of his side's win over Millwall.

“We defended those well, scored some really good goals and controlled the game when we needed to with an all-round good performance.

“We had a few set-plays to see off early on and we needed a little spell like that where the first chances the opposition have don’t go in the net, then we were clinical when our first good chance came."
