Adam Gemili finishes third at Diamond League meeting in Oslo

Britain's Adam Gemili came third as Richard Thompson of Trinidad won the men's 100m at the Diamond League meeting in Oslo.

It was Gemili's second consecutive third place, following his performance in Rome a week earlier.

The 20-year-old finished strongly to record a time of 10.11 seconds behind Thompson and France's Jimmy Vicaut.

Fellow Britons Richard Kilty, the world 60m indoor champion, and Daniel Talbot finished seventh and eighth.

Gemili had hoped to become the latest British sprinter to dip under 10 seconds after Chijindu Ujah clocked 9.96 at the FBK Games in the Netherlands on Sunday.

Teenager Jess Judd clocked a lifetime's best 1:59.77 in the women's 800m as she finished third behind world champion Eunice Jepkoech Sum.

"My season didn't start well and I fractured my back in the winter so I can't believe it," Judd told BBC Sport. "It's been a stressful time but everyone had faith in me."

Britons Asha Philip and Jodie Williams were fifth and sixth respectively in the women's 100m, won by France's Myriam Soumare.

Williams later raced in the women's 200m and finished second behind 2012 Olympic gold medallist Allyson Felix of the United States.

Scotland's Eilidh Child was third in the women's 400m hurdles in 55.33 in a race won by Jamaica's Kaliese Spencer.
