Steeplechaser Kerry O'Flaherty pools resources in road to Rio

Hard work has paid off for steeplechase athlete Kerry O'Flaherty as she looks forward to competing at next month's World Championships in Beijing before her Olympic challenge in Rio.

O'Flaherty achieved the world championship and Olympic qualifying times when she improved her personal best by over nine seconds at a meeting in Letterkenny earlier this month.

The Newcastle woman told BBC Sport Northern Ireland's Judith McDevitt that she is using a hydro pool in Belfast to aid her training as she aims to avoid the kind of injuries which regularly affect distance runners.
