Carl Frampton 'more optimistic' about Leo Santa Cruz rematch

Carl Frampton says his team "are slightly more optimistic in the last few days" about the likelihood of a third fight against WBA featherweight champion Leo Santa Cruz.

Mexican Santa Cruz regained his title on a majority verdict at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on 28 January, six months after the Belfast fighter triumphed in their first meeting.

Frampton says he hopes the pair can make it a trilogy of contests in Belfast, adding that his next fight will be in his home city, regardless of the opponent.
